Tagaini Jisho 0.2.2 update for Windows users

An update to 0.2.2 has been released, that fixes an important issue that may make Tagaini unusable if installed under Program Files on Windows Vista. Installer files have been updated to this release tagged 0.2.2a. Vista users who met problems with previous version should upgrade - users who do not have any problem may wait until the next release.

You may head to the download page and re-install 0.2.2 to apply the fix.

Some quick thoughts.

Found this recently. Nice program and an instant look a good user interface. Don't know, whether there should be an integrated kana (for Japanese words)/romaji (for English words) input method though. Similar to Windows method, but integrated. The input method could be changed with a tab for example.

However, what I really would like to see and haven't seen elsewhere, would be given example sentences like in Kodansha's Furigana dictionary. Every word has a few sentences that clarify how the word can be used + use in certain situations. Sentences are written with furigana. Also this application could include lists for 1st grade kanji and so on so the user does not need to make those himself.

Example sentences are a planned feature and will make it into a future version. As for the kanjis - they are already graded, both against the Japanese school system (see the "kanjis" extender) and JLPT.

Found from there and were able to select those for studying. Nice that the hotkeys 'a' for answer and so on worked. In this case some kind of time limiter might also be useful (x seconds and then the answer is shown). Very nice that under the Help there is a feature for suggesting a new feature. I'll be using that for now on, if I find something else that might be good to have.

For my case, Tagaini works fine on Vistax64. Keep up good progress. May I request ?

Most users actually never

Most users actually never faced the bug this release addresses, but for some it was a real blocker, making them unable to use the software at all. If you are not affected, you do not need to update.

Random flashcards? I think flashcards training is random already, could you elaborate on what you mean?
